Crewe Alexandra can confirm that midfielder Ryan Wintle has joined Cardiff City on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old has opted against signing a new deal with the Railwaymen and will now link up with the Championship side on July 1st.
Staffordshire-born, Wintle, has agreed a three-year-deal with the Bluebirds after completing his medical earlier today and will become team-mates once again with former Crewe Alex captain, Perry Ng.
The holding midfielder, joined the Alex back in 2015 after impressing on a short-term trial from local non-league side, Alsager Town. After making his competitive debut in November that year against Bradford City, he went on to make 186 appearances in a red shirt.
In 2018/19, Ryan became a regular starter for David Artell's side and impressed immensely in the new 4-3-3 formation which steered the club away from the relegation zone and within a chance of the League Two Play-Offs.
The following season, Wintle was an integral part of the 19/20 side that gained promotion back into League One. The Alex were sitting top of the tree until the season was curtailed due to the global pandemic outbreak and decided on a points per game system, leaving them in second place.
Ryan topped off an incredible campaign by sweeping up both the Player of The Season award voted by the supporters and also, the Players' Player of The Season at the end of season award ceremony.
Everyone associated with Crewe Alexandra would like to thank Ryan for his efforts during his time here and we wish him all the best in the Welsh capital.
