Josh Lundstram Agrees New Two-Year Deal

25 June 2021

Josh Lundstram has become the latest Crewe Alexandra youngster to sign a new contract with the club. The Staffordshire-based youngster has agreed a new two-year-deal and he will be hoping to establish himself in David Artell’s first-team plans after last season was ended prematurely due to injury.

The combative midfielder made a bright start to the 2020/21 season, making his senior debut in a Football League Trophy tie away at Bolton Wanderers. He followed that up by marking his EFL debut with a substitute performance against Charlton Athletic.

After making two other sub appearances against Hull City and MK Dons, he suffered a fracture of the ankle against Newcastle Under-21’s in a Football League Trophy game at Gresty Road in September and that virtually ended his season.

The 22-year-old, who won promotion to the National League with Altrincham in 2020 during a successful loan spell, battled back from his long-term injury to make a substitute appearance against Shrewsbury Town on the final day of the season. Lundstram replaced Olly Lancashire after 66 minutes in the club’s 3-2 win.

Everyone at the Football Club would like to congratulate Josh on his new deal.
