Defenders, Luke Offord and Donervon Daniels were withdrawn during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers as a precaution. Alex boss David Artell revealed after our latest pre-season encounter that ‘he was not going to take any risks with any of his players’.
Offord complained of a tight hamstring and didn’t reappear for the second half. His replacement Daniels also came off with close to 15 minutes remaining. Artell rejected the idea of re-introducing new signing Tommie Hoban because he didn’t want to risk another centre-half. Crewe played out the remaining minutes with 10 men.
Daniels, was taken off as a precautionary measure after having experiencing some muscle tightness and he is expected to be fine and available for selection for tomorrow night’s friendly against Stoke City at Mornflake Stadium.
