Young forward suffers a blow after promising pre-season

A scan has revealed that Crewe Alexandra forward, Tyreece Onyeka has suffered ankle ligament damage, ruling him out for between 6-10 weeks.

Onyeka suffered the injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Under-23 side on Wednesday. The winger scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Wolves but had to be withdrawn at half-time.

It is a set-back for Onyeka following a promising pre-season that saw him score three goals against Nantwich Town, Kidsgrove and Wolves Under-23s.
