Tommie Hoban Becomes Fourth Summer Signing

1 July 2021

Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of former Watford, Blackburn and Aberdeen defender Tommie Hoban.

The 27-year-old, who represented Republic of Ireland at under 21 level, has penned an initial 12-month deal with an option for an extension.

Tommie, who operates at the heart of defence, arrives with plenty of pedigree having been handed his Hornets debut aged just 16 and going on to make 57 appearances for the club.

A loan spell at Rovers in 2016-17 was followed by another at Aberdeen in 2018-19, and he signed a permanent deal with the Scottish Premiership outfit last summer.

Tommie made 44 outings last term, helping the Pittodrie side to a strong fourth placed finish.

He is David Artell’s fourth new addition of the summer, following fellow defender Kayne Ramsay, midfielder Shaun MacDonald and forward Christopher Long through the door at Mornflake Stadium.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Tommie and wish him every success during his time at the club.
