Dale:" I'm Happy Here And I'm Going To Keep Playing As Hard As I Can For The Team"

2 July 2021

Player of the the Year says his only focus is getting as sharp as he can be for the start of the season.

Crewe Alexandra’s player-of-the-season, Owen Dale, admits that it is always a compliment to be spoken about in regards to a potential big move – but he is quick to state that it is pure speculation.

Dale collected all the main awards at the end of the season after his most consistent campaign to date saw him score 12 goals from his wide position and that is thought to have put a host of clubs on red alert.

The Warrington-born Academy graduate is purely focussed on his football and manager David Artell said recently that the club have received no formal offers for any of their players as we head into pre-season.

Dale told the club’s official website: “It's a compliment especially when people are saying there is some quite big teams interested, but I'm a Crewe player and I'll continue to work hard and do the best I can for this team.

“I'm happy to be here and I am going to keep playing as hard as I can for this club.

Owen added: “Until the gaffer comes to me and says we have accepted an offer it doesn't really matter. It’s just speculation and I am only focussed on getting as fit and sharp as I can be for the start of the season.”
