Stoke Friendly Raises £28,500 For Ashton

27 July 2021

Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce that our fundraising friendly with Stoke City raised £28,500 to help support Ashton Hulme.

The clubs came together for the fixture at Mornflake Stadium last week to raise cash to back the brave 12-year-old, who is fighting a rare form of cancer.

Talented goalkeeper Ashton, a popular member of the Alex academy, is battling Osteosarcoma and had to have part of his right leg amputated earlier this year.

That means the youngster will need expensive specialist prosthetics throughout his life if he is to continue to pursue his sporting ambitions.

Now the money raised by the game, which saw the Potters run out 3-2 winners, will go directly to Ashton’s family.

Crewe Alexandra would like to thank supporters of both clubs for attending the game and doing so much to make it a very special occasion for Ashton.
