Artell :"We Are Going Along Nicely But We Haven't Ripped Up Any Trees Yet"

20 January 2021

Crewe Alexandra boss David Artell says that no one is getting carried away with the progress we are making in League One. A 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers at Gresty Road has lifted the Railwaymen to 7th in the table and extended our unbeaten run to 9 league games, but the Alex boss says that ‘no one is ripping up trees’ just yet.

Artell told crewealex.net: “We are going along nicely. We are doing okay but that is all it is.

“I don’t know where we are in the league. I knew we were 9th, 10th or whatever it was, so we are moving in the right direction but there has to be more to come if we are to get where we want to be.

“We are on a decent run. It is nine games unbeaten and there won’t be many teams doing that in League One but we are where we are. If we were top of the league and about to go 9 unbeaten then we would be looking at it from a different perspective.

“The lads have done great but we are not ripping up trees either and they know we want more from them.

“We will assess them over the next few days, patch them up and go again on Saturday.”
