David Artell says it is testimony to his Crewe Alexandra players that the club are building a reputation for playing really good football again.
A promising start to life in League One sees the Railwaymen in 9th place in the league table, just a couple of points from a play-off place and although no-one is getting carried away with half the campaign to go, the Alex boss says it is nice to see us earn some recognition for the way we play.
David told the club’s official website: “It is pleasing that we are being recognized for the way we play and the style we adopt. I think that it is important for any manager and club to have their own style.
“I want my team to play good football and for me personally, the Crewe way that Dario (Gradi) introduced all those years ago is the right way. The new age term for that is football philosophy and if that is what people think about our team, then that's great.
“That is for others to believe and say but I do think we have a half decent team with good players. It is easy to analyse what we do but another thing to stop it because our kids have come through the Academy and know the situations and solutions on the pitch.
“I think we are good at what we do and it is always nice to receive compliments or be appreciated and that is down to the players and staff, going all the way back to the ones in the Academy who taught the majority of them as kids.
“All we have done so far is make a good start. There is plenty more to come and plenty more to do.”
