Captain Is Back And Has To Pick Up Where He Left Off

15 January 2021

Perry Ng is available for selection again after serving his six-match suspension and boss David Artell says that the club captain will learn from the experience.

Ng has endured a frustrating time on the sidelines after being drawn into an altercation at the end of our FA Cup tie at Cheltenham.

Ahead of our trip to Plymouth Argyle, the Alex boss told us: “Perry has had a long time to gather his thoughts and he knows he can’t get involved in an incident like that again. We all know his behaviour fell a bit short on that occasion but he is a passionate lad.

“He is a terrific lad and he conducts himself well most of the time. That is why he is the captain. He knows what it takes to be a top professional and that is one reason why he is the captain. He leads by his actions rather than words and I have no qualms about how he is or his mentality.

“He knows what we want from him and he knows what is needed if he wants to play higher in the future, with this club or elsewhere.

He added: “Pez has to pick the baton up again from where he left because he was playing well before his suspension.”
