Boss Explains Ng Absence At Plymouth

16 January 2021

Following the 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle this evening, David Artell, provided us with an update on the reasoning behind Perry Ng’s absence from the Alex squad.

Ng, 24, was left out after growing speculation over his future.

The Liverpool-born captain was available for selection after recently serving a suspension, but with the club moving closer to agreeing a potential transfer he wasn’t included for the 1-1 draw at Home Park.

Artell explained to the club’s official website: “We are closer to finalising a deal for Perry and that should be concluded early next week. When it came to him playing, I spoke to him in the hotel last night and then again this morning.

“He slept on the decision and there was no pressure from me or the club for him to play or not play. It was all amicable and sensible.

“All we can do is see what happens over the weekend and then into early next week. “
