Boss backing loan signing to have impact in both boxes during loan spell
David Artell believes that his new loan signing, Billy Jones, can add a goal threat on his return to Gresty Road. The vastly experienced defender, who represented England Youth teams when he first broke into Dario Gradi’s first-team as a teenager has scored 25 career goals to date and Artell believes that the 33-year-old has the techniques to add to that particular tally during his loan spell back with us.
David told crewealex.net: “Billy has a decent return of goals in his career. I think everyone can see that tap in he scored for Crewe from that corner! That is doing the rounds at the minute on social media and that shows what he is capable of.
"His techniques when striking a football are very good and that is why he has been able to chip in with goals.
“When your techniques are good, you should finish like a forward. A shot is only another pass into the corner of the goal, making sure you miss the goalkeeper and Billy is capable of adding goals to his game.
“I am sure he will come in and have an influence at both ends of the pitch. He has great experience and I’m sure that will help us both on and off the pitch.”
