Artell: "It Will Be A Different Plymouth This Time Around"

13 January 2021

Boss expecting to face a more confident Pilgrim side after run of defeats came to an end after Gresty Road loss in December.

David Artell believes that his Crewe Alexandra side will face a different type of Plymouth Argyle this weekend from the one we did last month. Crewe deservedly defeated the Pilgrims 2-1 in December thanks to first half goals from Owen Dale and Charlie Kirk, but Ryan Lowe’s side came into the game on a poor run of five straight defeats in League One.

Lowe has got them going again and since the defeat at Gresty Road, they have lost just one in the past five in all competitions. They enjoyed a superb 3-2 win at Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup at the weekend.

David told the club’s official website: “We managed to beat Plymouth at home and I thought we were good value for the win that night. They changed things at half-time and came more into second half but I thought we deserved the three points overall.

“Plymouth came into that game on a poor run for them but they have managed to turn it around again and they are on a decent run themselves.

“I am sure it will be a different game. It is always tough going down there and I just hope we get a good ref this time and it is another good game.

“We know we will have to play well again to win it and that is what we aim to do. It is as simple as that.”
