Artell and Ng agent not happy with another agent's involvement in Championship bid.
David Artell has described an offer made for club captain Perry Ng as ‘absolutely derisory’.
Ng has been the subject of a bid from a Championship club this week, but Artell and the club board have been quick to dismiss it.
Artell believes that the club’s supporters deserve to know the truth and he is clearly unhappy with the involvement of an agent trying to ‘drive a deal’ that is nothing to do with him.
Ng’s own agent has not involved in the submitted bid and that has left all parties disappointed with the way things have come out in the media.
Artell has made it evident in the build up to the January window that the club do not have to sell due to our financial position.
The club's stance has always been that we never stand in a player's way if any potential deal suits all parties. All parts have to come together as a collective to make a move happen.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “I am not surprised that we have seen press speculation about our players because we have good players and that just isn’t Pez.
“Firstly, we do not need to sell. We are in a good financial position, probably the best we have been for a number of years, so we are in a strong position there.
“We have had an offer for Perry, but when I say an offer, it was so derisory that I think we only responded out of politeness.
“There is an agent driving to drive the deal through but in truth it’s nothing to do with him. He doesn’t represent Perry and he doesn’t represent us. He isn’t working for us because we don’t pay them.
“He is trying to get a deal over the line but he miles off. He is as far from here to Mars away!
“It is nothing to do with Perry or his agent and he was fuming yesterday when he saw what was going on. Pez and his agent understood the situation and he just gets on with it. He is a terrific captain and player.
He added: “If he stays and runs his contract down and goes in the summer then that is what happens. He wants to stay, I’m sure we will sit down and talk about it, but he knows that we won’t consider offers like the one we received this week. It was absolutely derisory."
