With the EFL and Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) confirming they will be re-introducing twice-weekly COVID-19 testing for all 72 Clubs from Monday, David Artell says that the football industry is working its socks off to keep everyone as safe as possible, so the game continues to provide some entertainment during the pandemic.
The tests have initially been procured from the private sector and will be fully funded by the PFA following discussions that have taken place with the EFL.
Artell welcomed the news that testing will be re-introduced in the EFL. “The EFL board and staff are working their socks off and they have gone to great lengths to make sure that football can continue.
“If that means more testing then that is what we have to do. We welcome that.
The boss added: “The fans are relying on to us to get through this and provide some respite from lockdown. Football and sport helps with the well-being of the people who follow it. I truly believe that. That is my opinion and we have to do everything we can and take the necessary precautions to make that happen.”
