Artell "Unbeaten Run Is Great Achievement But We Need To Turns Draws Into Wins"

19 January 2021

David Artell is delighted that his Crewe Alexandra side managed to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in League One with a 1-1 draw at Plymouth Argyle but he is still looking for that more clinical edge to turn some of those draws into wins.

Crewe drew 1-1 at Plymouth Argyle at the weekend after previously drawing 3-3 with free-scoring Rochdale the week before. Artell says he is pleased with two away draws but wants more three points to put pressure on the teams above us in the table.

Artell told the club’s official website: “I wouldn’t have thought that there are many teams who have gone eight games unbeaten in League One. I don’t know but it is a good achievement. We can take great heart from that.

“I would say that we just don’t want to go unbeaten, we want to win games and not just draw them.

“If you offered me three draws or two wins and a defeat then I would take the two wins because it would be three extra points. We want to win games.

“We have two home games coming up now, so we want to continue our run and win the games. Being at home gives us more chance of being successful and we have to take advantage of that.”
