David Artell has confirmed that defender Billy Jones has returned to his parent club Rotherham United to undergo his rehab for a knee injury.
The right-back, 33, played three games on his return to Crewe for a second spell.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “Billy went to see his specialist and it has been decided that he has gone back to Rotherham to undergo his rehab.
“That is an occupational hazard of football and as one door closes, another one opens. It is as simple as that.”
