Offord out for considerable time still after hamstring tear
Talented defender, Luke Offord, is still a ‘long way off’ a return to action.
The 21-year-old, who has really established himself in David Artell’s starting XI over the last 12 months suffered a severe hamstring tear and was withdrawn just before half-time against Bristol Rovers in January.
The centre-half suffered a similar grade 3 tear as his team-mates, Callum Ainley and Donervon Daniels and he is working hard at his rehab, but Artell says that he does not expect him to be back training for weeks yet.
On Offord’s injury, the boss said: “Luke has seen a specialist and he is way off. He has a good distance to go yet but he is working incredibly hard at his rehab to get back as soon as he can.
“He is the furthest of them but we expected him to be at this stage because he has only been a month, five weeks out.”
Offord had made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring his first senior goal in the 3-0 home over Wigan Athletic back in October.
