"It Hasn't Been Vintage Us Of Late But We Are Still In The Mix"

David Artell admits that his Crewe Alexandra side will have to remain guarded against John Sheridan’s Swindon Town side this weekend.

The Alex travel to the County Ground aiming to get back on track after losing 2-0 to Peterborough United last time out. Despite their struggles at the wrong end of the table this season, Artell says that Swindon have the qualities to hurt us if we allow it.

Speaking ahead of the weekend fixture, Artell told us: “We don’t treat anyone any differently because they are beneath us in the table.

“Swindon were promoted with us last season and have good players. They were 2-0 up at our place and Daniel (Powell’s) goal just before half-time was crucial. It got us back in the game at just the right time.

“We didn’t start very well that night and we will have to better at that. It is an important three points up for grabs.

“The results haven’t been bad of late, but some of the performances have been subdued and not vintage us. We have lost two games in the last 14, so we are doing above average. We can be better and we are not settling for that.

“We need to get into really good form again and there is no reason why we can’t.”
