Nolan Joins Motherwell On Loan

1 February 2021

Defender moves to Scottish Premier League side after chances become limited this season.

Crewe Alexandra can confirm that centre-half Eddie Nolan has joined Scottish Premiership Club Motherwell on loan until the end of the season.

Eddie will now link up with former Salford City manager Graham Alexander at Fir Park.

Nolan, 32, has seen his opportunities limited at Crewe this season following the summer signing of Omar Beckles from Shrewsbury and the consistent form of Olly Lancashire and young Luke Offord ahead of him.

The former Eire international has made just two appearances for the club this season in the Football League Trophy against Shrewsbury Town and more recently, Hull City. He is eager to gain playing time with his contract ending at the end of the season.

The Waterford-born, Nolan has amassed over 100 appearances for Crewe Alexandra since joining from Blackpool in the summer of 2017. He has chipped in with five goals and was an important member of our promotion winning campaign last season before he was injured just before Christmas 2019.

The previous Crewe Player-of-the-Year and superb club servant is out of contract at the end of the season and everyone wishes him well at Fir Park.
