Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce the signing of Middlesbrough defender Nathan Wood on loan until the end of the season.

Wood, 18, becomes David Artell’s fourth signing of the January transfer window and adds more quality into his defensive ranks.

The Ingleby Barwick-born central defender signed a professional contract with Middlesbrough in 2018 having impressed for Club and country throughout the youth system.

Nathan’s loan deal with the Alex will be his first in professional football as he seeks more first-team experience.
