Mandron: "It Was A Straight Forward Decision To Sign New Deal"

26 February 2021

Mikael Mandron says it was a ‘straight forward decision’ to sign his new contract extension with the club.

Mandron, who has scored 9 goals so far season in all competitions, signed a new and improved deal to take him through to the summer 2022 on Tuesday.

The former Sunderland and Gillingham striker told the club’s official website: “I was delighted to sign because I feel that ever since I came here, I have learnt a lot and continue to improve as a player.

“I love the environment, the people are nice and everyone gets on, so when the club offered me a new contract, it was a straight forward decision for me to make.

“I want to stay here longer and become a better footballer. I have learnt a lot already from the gaffer and the coaching staff and hopefully this season and next will be successful ones for the team.

“I like the way Crewe is set-up, they want to help you develop as a player and you do a lot of technical and tactical work. It is all very detailed and I feel I have improved 100% as a player. When all the things are right off the pitch, it helps you on the pitch as well.

“I’ve settled in really well here and I know I will continue to improve. Ever since I was a young child I wanted to improve and get better every day and I know I will do that here. In the end signing the contract was an easy decision for me. “
