Delighted For Udoh's Success

2 February 2021

Dave Artell pleased that former forward has found in feet in League One.

David Artell says that everyone at Crewe Alexandra is delighted that our former forward, Daniel Udoh, has fought his way back into the EFL after leaving the Alexandra Stadium back in 2018.

Udoh was limited to 20 appearances with the Alex, scoring his only goal against Accrington Stanley in the Football League Trophy.

The 24-year-old moved on to Telford United before securing a move to tonight’s opponents, Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2019.

The Nigerian has scored 3 goals this season for the Shrews and Artell is pleased that the likeable Udoh has gone on and found his feet in League One.

Ahead of tonight’s encounter at the Montgomery Waters Meadow, the Alex boss said: “I’ve got a lot of time for Dan. He is a terrific fella and I am really pleased that he has gone on and rediscovered himself.

“He had to take two steps back to come again and he has done terrifically well. His attitude has always been first class and he works his socks off and managers see that. He is a humble guy and that gives him opportunities in games.

He added: “We are all glad to see him doing well. I wish him well after tonight because he is a great fella. He is a League One player and he is scoring goals. He has done ever so well.”
