David Artell described his Sunday as a ‘tough one’ after his Crewe Alexandra side were beaten 2-1 in stoppage time by Swindon Town, the previous day.
Crewe failed to turn their possession into goals at County Ground and paid the ultimate price with Scott Twine scoring the winner deep into stoppage time. The result leaves The Railwaymen 14th in the League One table.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “It was a tough Sunday I have to say. Some defeats hurt more than most and that was one of them because we didn’t deserve it. But I’ve said many times that goals change games and we didn’t take our chances.
“Yes, we were all saying afterwards ‘how have we not won that game?’ and it would have been disappointing to have drawn the game, never mind to lose it in the manner we did.
“Watching it back was the same. We dominated most of the game and most of the ball but we couldn’t take those opportunities and we paid the price in the end. That is what we have learn and make sure we do and put games to bed.
“The good news is that we have a game tomorrow night. We have a good team coming in Accrington and we will have to be a lot more ruthless than we were in Saturday.”
