Artell: "Most Of The Players Know What It Takes To Be Successful And We Will See How Far They Can Take Us"

4 February 2021

David Artell says that the majority of his Crewe Alexandra squad know what it takes to be successful and with Crewe handily placed in the League One table, he wants to see how far his players can go this season.

Crewe won promotion from League Two on the points-per-game ratio following the outbreak of Covid-19 and have certainly surprised a few in the league above and after reaching the milestone of 40 points, the Alex boss says that our destiny remains very much in our own hands.

Talking after the hard fought 1-0 win over Shrewsbury, the Alex boss said: “We have 19, 20 games left or whatever it is nd there are clubs in and around us with games in hand.

“We are in a good position and if we go unbeaten in those games or win the majority of them then we have a great chance and we don’t then we won’t. It is as simple as that.

“Because of our results we are in a decent position but that is all. We will have to see where we are when all the games are completed.

“Most of our players know what it takes to be successful. The majority of them showed that last year and have a nice shining medal to prove it.

He added: “Now if they can go and get another one rests on what we do in these remaining games.”
