Artell: "We Are Getting There But Plenty Of Hard Work Still To Be Done"

8 December 2021

David Artell believes that his Crewe Alexandra side have turned a corner after winning our last three home games 2-0 in all competitions. Two finely taken spot-kicks from Mikael Mandron gave us a vital three points against Lincoln City last night and Artell believes that our recent form is prove that ‘we are getting there’ after a poor start to the campaign.

The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “We have won our last three home games 2-0 if you include the cup win over Doncaster Rovers. If you look after your home form then anything on the road is a bonus.

“We have another tough game coming up on Saturday against one of the league’s big guns (Sheffield Wednesday) but I think we have turned a corner in terms of our performances. You don’t win three home games 2-0, if you haven’t.

“We also performed well enough at Ipswich to have won the game never mind drawn it, so it is good to see the hard work paying off. We are finding our feet. I said in the summer that it would take a bit of time and it has taken longer than we wanted but we are getting there.

“There is plenty of hard work still to do but these players are working their socks off for this club.”
