Artell: "Scouts Attending Our Games Is Just Noise To Me'

10 December 2021

David Artell says he doesn’t pay much attention to other club scouts attending games at the mornflake Stadium. With eight Academy graduates starting the game against Lincoln City on Tuesday it was no surprise that a large proportion of scouts came to the game to browse.

Artell says that a flood of scouts attending our home games is ‘just noise’ to him and he just wants to focus on improving his players.

Ahead of this weekend’s eagerly anticipated encounter with Sheffield Wednesday, the Alex boss told us: “I never take any interest in the scouts list. Scouts are everywhere now and it is what it is. It is just noise to me really and I am just focussed on improving the players, that’s my job.

“If a concrete offer comes into me or the chairman then we will discuss it but until then I don’t tend to take much notice.

“If there were a lot there on Tuesday night, I don’t know who they were watching. They might have just wanted to get out and watch a game, or they might have been watching Lincoln’s players, I don’t know and like I’ve said, it is what it is.”
