"More To Morecambe's Attacking Threat Than Just In-Form Stockton"

Artell on Morecambe's in-form forward and others who support him in attack.

David Artell has praised the season that in-form Morecambe striker, Cole Stockton, has enjoyed thus far, but he says that there is a lot more to tonight’s hosts than just him.

The 27-year-old Stockton has struck 16 times in all competitions this season and has been one of the most talked about players in the entire EFL during the first part of the season.  The Shrimper is certainly one to watch out for but Artell says that you ignore their other attack-minded players at your peril.

Artell told the club’s official website: “We know that Cole Stockton is a good player. I went to watch them the other week and he was good again. They are reliant on him because he is the in-form striker in our league but they are far from a one-man team.

“Stockton has scored some cracking goals this season, that we have all seen, but he also gets those normal strikers goals that I like to see as well and that comes from good service from his teammates. They are creating chances for him and he has shown what a good finisher he is.

“There is more to Morecambe than just him but we know that if we can keep him quiet and the service going into him then that is a big part of their armoury gone. They have that attacking threat and we have to make sure we have the answers.”
