David Artell praised the performance of the recalled Terell Thomas last night after he helped Crewe Alexandra record a deserved 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers to reach the final 16 of the Northern Section of the Papa John’s Trophy.
Thomas, 26, certainly helped debutant Connor O’Riordan settle down and assist him in making an assured first appearance at that level.
Artell said of the former AFC Wimbledon man: “I thought Terell was brilliant for us. He was calm and composed and that’s it.
“It was good to see that he had a performance like that in him against Doncaster’s first team, so now he has to become more consistent and be like that every week.”
