Artell: "Another Big Game Coming Up And We Have To Keep It Going"

31 December 2021

Alex boss on Burton away day and the need to keep our improved spell going.

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra side have to follow up our first away win of the season with another positive performance and result at Burton Albion on New Years’ Day.

Crewe deservedly won 2-1 at Morecambe in mid-week to record that first away success in League One and Artell says that we have to try and continue the momentum that has seen us win four out of our last six games in all competitions.

Ahead of our trip to the Pirelli Stadium, Artell told the club’s official website: “It is another big game for us on Saturday and we have to prepare and rest right and go again. We have been in some decent form of late and we have to keep that going.

“We have to try to keep that momentum going with good performances and results.

“The away fans have been unbelievable for us this season. They have been fantastic and they can see that the players are trying. They have seen the improvement and they are fair judges. They gave us a standing ovation at Ipswich, while the home team got booed off, and we lost the game! They appreciate what we are trying to do.

He added: “I hope we will see large numbers of them again at Burton this weekend and that we can go and get another result for them because that is what we are working hard to do.”
