Artell: "We Have Been Better Of Late And That Has To Continue Against Lincoln"

7 December 2021

Boss eyes three home points to keep in touch.

David Artell says that the objective will remain the same regardless of us hosting fellow strugglers Lincoln City this evening or Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. The Alex desperately need the three points to stay in touch with those above us in the table and Artell says that has to be the aim going into every game.

Crewe host the Imps this evening with Michael Appleton’s side in 18th place with 21 points. Three points for the Railwaymen this evening would put us within six points but Lincoln City would still have a game in hand.

Ahead of tonight’s home fixture, Artell told us: “The aim is always three points. That never changes regardless of who we are playing. It will be the objective against Lincoln and it will be the same when we play Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. We don’t go into any games thinking anything less.

“We know we have to start winning games of football to give ourselves a chance. If we can produce another one of our encouraging performances of late then we have every chance of getting the three points.

“We have done better of late and we have to keep that going against Lincoln and then take that into Saturday and then Gillingham the week after that.”
