Crewe Alexandra’s assistant manager, Kenny Lunt, says the club remain confident of adding players to our squad before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline. The window closes at 11pm on that day and Lunt says that the club have worked hard and will continue to work hard to bring in ‘good players’ to help us turn around a slow start to the season.
Lunt has adhered to the observations of his manager, David Artell that the club have gone through the toughest window to date following a large churn of players.
The club’s assistant told the club’s official website: “It has been a tough window because normally at Crewe it is one or two out and us looking for replacements or promoting from within but this year there has been a larger number leaving. There have been a lot of changes over the last six months and it has been hard work in trying to replace them.
“We have worked hard over the summer and hopefully we are now in the process of getting some good players through the door. We are close with one or two and hopefully we will get some more done.
“There will be a lot of clubs in our situation though and there will be a number of players who will still be available once the window closes as well, because they will be free agents.
“We need to add some players to the squad and hopefully when we do that will see us improve and start us winning football matches again.”
