Alex midfielder Josh Lundstram says it is important that we take on the massive positives from the Leeds United game and take that into Saturday’s clash at the Valley.
Lundstram echoed the fact that we were able to frustrate a Premier League side for 77 minutes at a sold-out Elland Road and the former Academy youngster believes we have to aim to perform like that all season.
The 22-year-old from Staffordshire told crewealex.net: “I wouldn’t say we matched Leeds on Tuesday night but we were able to remain in the game for large periods and it was unfortunate that we conceded the first goal in the manner which we did. To concede from a corner was disappointing.
“We can take massive positives from the way we played. To come away to a Premier League side and frustrate them like we did into the 77th minute was a real positive and we have to take that standard into the league now. I thought the lads were brilliant, the 11 that started and the subs.
Josh added: “If we can perform like we did at Leeds then we have nothing to fear in League One. We are used to going to the bigger sides in the division now, so we have to go there and thrive in that atmosphere. “
