Kirk Completes Charlton Move

Winger signs four-year deal with Addicks

Crewe Alexandra can confirm that Charlie Kirk has completed his move to Charlton Athletic. The club’s former Academy graduate has agreed a four-year deal with the London club for an undisclosed fee.

Kirk has not featured for Crewe this season after Charlton Athletic made a bid for the player and now that personal terms have been agreed, he will join Nigel Atkins side.

The 23-year-old wide man is the latest of our Academy graduates to complete a move following the summer moves of Harry Pickering to Blackburn Rovers and Ryan Wintle to Cardiff City where he teams up with Perry Ng.

The Winsford-born Kirk made 203 appearances for the Railwaymen in all competitions, scoring 32 goals from his wing position. His total of nine goals and 14 assists during our promotion winning season saw him named in the PFA League Two of the Year and his consistent form saw him attract interest.

On our return to League One last season, Kirk scored a further seven goals from his 46 appearances and his partnership down the left flank with skipper Pickering was one of the major reasons for our success.

Crewe Alexandra travel to Valley on 28th August where Kirk could be in opposition.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra wishes Charlie all the very best with his career and thank him for his service.
