City loannee earns praise from the gaffer for spirited second half performance on his debut

Winger Ben Knight made his Crewe Alexandra debut in last night’s 1-0 defeat to Oxford United last night and boss David Artell says the teenager will be ‘more than good enough for us’.  

The on-loan Manchester City loanee has joined for the season and has inherited Charlie Kirk number 10 shirt.

Artell told the club’s official web-site: “Ben is a very good player. He has trained once with us on the Monday, so when we are talking about relationships and him having that understanding with his team-mates, he has had one session.

“So for him to come down to Oxford and play like he did was commendable. For his debut he was fine, he was more than fine and once he settles in and we can coach into him what we need from him then he is going to be more than good enough for us.”
