Midfielder Ryan Wintle says that when this Crewe Alexandra side click like we did against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night then the football becomes easier.
Wintle was on top form at the Valley and helped Crewe control much of the game in the key area, so much so that the Alex dressing room was disappointed with only a point to show after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
The 23-year-old midfielder told the club’s official website: “I thought we were outstanding the other night and we were glad to get a point in the end, but we were also disappointed that it wasn’t all three.
“I thought we were the better side on the night and we shouldn’t settle for just a point because we did well enough to have won.
“When we play like that when everyone is confident and playing with no fear, it is really enjoyable. Everyone knows their roles and the football becomes easier.
“We really enjoyed the way we played and hopefully the fans watching at home did so as well.
“To come back twice in the game shows the character in the group. The gaffer has been on to us about overcoming set-backs in games and not coming back.
“We didn’t come back too much in mid-season and we have to keep going. We don’t want what happened against Oxford to happen again and if we go behind, we have to keep playing our football and get back into the game.
Ryan added: “We did that at Charlton and we got a deserved point because of it.”
