Rio Won't Be Available Following Head Injury

16 April 2021

Rio Adebisi will not be available for this weekend’s fixture at Wigan Athletic after suffering delayed concussion on Tuesday evening. The full-back was withdrawn just after the half an hour mark of our goalless draw with Portsmouth after taking a kick in the face. He was replaced by Donervon Daniels at right back.

Adebisi was fully assessed by the club doctor and medical team and David Artell says the club will follow the procedures and regulations on head injuries.

The Crewe boss told the club’s official website: “Rio won’t be available for the game this weekend. He suffered delay concussion and we take the procedures into relation with that very serious.

“He won’t be available and will have to wait until Tuesday to be considered again. He will be assessed and see if he has any symptoms.

“The time frame is set in stone and we abide by the rules.”
