Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell has provided a fitness update ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Rochdale as his side look to build on from Tuesday’s fine display.
The boss was enforced into an early change at Highbury after Luke Offord went down clutching the back of his leg with 20 minutes gone on the clock.
Later on, in the first half, Middlesborough loanee, Nathan Wood was on the receiving end of a heavy tackle and showed great heart to remain on the pitch until the 48th minute.
Artell told crewealex.net that: “It’s not good news for Luke. His season has ended. It’s a very similar injury to his last one but on the other leg this time. We are expecting him to be out for a couple of weeks, but we’re hopeful it won’t be long-term.
“With Nathan, he has got a bruise from a tackle in the first half against Fleetwood. He’s progressing well and will be outside training with the rest of the squad today.”
