David Artell wants his Crewe Alexandra side to back up Tuesday night’s excellent performance at the Valley with another one against Bristol Rovers this weekend.
Crewe drew 2-2 against play-off hopes Charlton Athletic in mid-week and Artell is after a similar performance at the Memorial Stadium.
The Alex boss told the club’s official website: “It was a good performance on Tuesday night, much better than the one against Fleetwood but we got three points there and only one on Tuesday night.
“We know that when we play football like that then we have a chance. When we play like that then you have a greater chance of winning more games than you lose.
“We would always like to play like that but it is not always the case and you have to consider the opposition in that as well.
“It would be nice to repeat that performance again at Bristol. It is important to show that we can follow up a good performance with another one. That has been a problem for us this season, where we have been too inconsistent and it is something we will look to improve on.
“Bristol is a tough place to go and irrespective of their position or situation, they will be playing for pride and perhaps their futures there and Joey (Barton) will demand that of them.
He added: “We have to make sure that we have a high level of performance and try and try to keep our recent good record of away performances going.”
