David Artell has told the club’s official website that the team will go through the DVD of Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Oxford United.
The Alex conceded five goals in a 13th minute spell either side of half time and substitute Sam Winnall added a sixth with a header. It was Crewe’s third successive home defeat and Artell is after a positive reaction against Portsmouth tomorrow.
The Alex boss told crewealxex.net: “The preparation for Portsmouth starts with a reflection from Saturday. We will go through the video together and raise the points we need to raise. We welcome anyone to have their say and we work through it.
“It is all to make sure we try and help them and to make sure that going forward we are on the same page. Once we have gone through what needs to be said about what we didn’t well on Saturday then we will prepare for another tough game against Portsmouth.
“We will be honest with our assessment and the players need to be honest with themselves as well. I asked them to look in the mirror on Saturday night and reflect on their own performances.
He added: “I have done that as a manager. You don’t lose 6-0 at home unless the manager has made mistakes as well. “
