Callum Ainley’s ankle injury will be assessed today to see if he has any chance of being involved against Oxford United this weekend.
The attacking midfielder suffered a severe cut to his ankle against MK Dons on Monday after only coming on as a late substitute. Although he was able to complete the final minutes of our 2-0 win, he was in clear discomfort when departing Stadium MK.
He has received intensive treatment all week after his ankle ballooned and bruised.
David Artell explained to the club’s official website: “Callum’s ankle looked horrific on Monday. His ankle ballooned up and it was obvious he was in a lot of discomfort on the trip home.
“We will give him a final assessment today to see how he is before deciding if he can be involved or not against Oxford.”
