Winger close to return after knee injury

David Artell has told the club’s official website that winger Daniel Powell is ‘nearly there’ in his return from a knee injury.

The former MK Dons man has not featured this season after picking up the injury towards the end of pre-season but his rehab has gone according to plan and he has now successfully returned to training.

Artell told us: “Daniel has been struggling with his knee but he is heading in the right direction. That can happen with these contact injuries and it has taken some time.

“He is getting there and is getting closer and that will be another major boost for us.

“The treatment room is looking healthier than it did. When we started out there were 6,7,8 in there and now there is only two or three, so we are heading in the right direction with all of them.”

The boss also indicated that Chris Porter successfully underwent an injection yesterday to ease the inflammation in his heal.

David told the club’s official website: “Chris has had his injection and there were no problems. It will take a week or so to settle down and hopefully that will go a long way to resolving the issue.”
