Defender's chance ends prematurely due to injury.
Olly Lancashire’s miserable time with injuries continued last night after he was forced off on the half an hour mark with what looked a muscle injury. Lancashire couldn’t continue against the youngsters from Newcastle United and had to be replaced by Perry Ng.
Lancashire, who joined the club from Swindon two summers ago, has had a frustrating time with injuries and he was limited to just 12 appearances during the last campaign before it was ended prematurely due to the global pandemic.
Kenny Lunt expressed his disappointment after Olly’s second appearance of the season ended early.
The club’s assistant manager told crewealex.net: “It is so disappointing for Olly because whenever he plays he has done well. He just cannot get those run of games and he has been really unfortunate with injuries since he came here.
“Whenever he plays, he comes in and does a good job for the team. It was the same tonight and he is a good pro. He is just unfortunate with these little niggles and remaining fit, so he can get a run of games under his belt.
“We will assess how bad it is, hopefully it is not too bad, and take it from there.”
