David Artell has told the club’s official website that he has received encouraging news from the treatment room in regards to injured players.

The Alex boss has revealed that Donervon Daniels and Daniel Powell have resuming running again and midfielder Tom Lowery has restarted tentative training following his hernia surgery.

Striker Chris Porter is also making promising progress in overcoming his foot injury. Last season’s leading scorer with 14 goals has been struggling with some discomfort in his heal.

Artell told the club’s official website: “Donervon and Daniel are running again so that is encouraging news. We will see how they both get on this week.

“Tom is at the start of his end of rehab. He did some very light training yesterday, extremely light and then did some running on his own.

“The work he has been doing looks to working and he is going in the right direction.

“Chris is progressing but it has been a bit slower with him because of his heal injury and the discomfort he is feeling.

“It is a mixed bag but we are getting there and all of them are heading in the right direction.”
