David Vaughan Joins Club As Academy Coach

5 September 2020

Luke Murphy isn’t the only former Crewe midfielder to be returning to the Alex this summer.

Crewe Alexandra are also delighted to announce that former Alex midfielder David Vaughan has returned to the Football Club as a part-time academy coach.

The former Welsh international who played in the Premier League with Blackpool during a distinguished playing career has now embarked on a new career as a coach.

Academy Manager Aidan Callan said: “We are delighted that David has taken up the opportunity to come back to the club to take up a role as a part-time academy coach. As well as being an excellent coach. David is the perfect role model for our young players here at the academy.

“As a former academy player himself, David clearly understands our philosophy and coaching methods and knows what it takes to play for Crewe Alexandra and beyond.

David will work alongside Lee Bell with our Under 13 age group.

Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome David back to the Football Club.
