Artell says Alex are not far off turning performances into results.
David Artell believes his Crewe Alexandra side have shown enough in their two outings thus far against League One opponents to suggest that we are ‘not too far’ turning results into our favour.
The Alex have lost successive home games to Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup and Charlton Athletic in our first league game – but Artell says there have been plenty of positives to take from those two performances.
Crewe head to Hull City’s impressive KCOM Stadium this weekend and Artell believes those find margins just have to go more in our favour.
Ahead of our trip to Yorkshire this weekend, the boss said: “I don’t think we have been too far off. We know we have to improve and we will be doing everything we can to make sure those margins go for us.
“If we keep working hard then we end up scoring the first goal and then we score another. We then don’t concede two goals in a game, it goes to one or none and then we are in a great position. Suddenly you have turned it around and those results go in our favour instead.
The boss added: “I don’t think anyone thought we would go up a level and hit the ground running, especially with the tough start we were given, but if we keep on improving then we will be fine.”
