'Chip shop paper' according to gaffer after captain is linked to Championship club.
David Artell has dismissed speculation linking Perry Ng to Nottingham Forest.
Artell says that rumours are to be expected when a club sells one of their own, but he says that he has had no contact whatsoever from the Championship club regarding our club captain.
Ng is contracted to Crewe Alexandra and is fully expected to start the League One campaign against Charlton Athletic after being rested for Tuesday’s Checkatrade Trophy group game at Bolton Wanderers with a number of others.
Artell told crewealex.net: “It is to be expected when a club sell their right-back because we have a very good one in Pez. That is just an assumption and I don’t know which chip shop that has come from.
“It is chip shop paper to me. I have heard nothing from Nottingham Forest. Not even a whisper and whoever made up that story should really concentrate on battering his fish.”
