Artell Disappointed By Fans Return Put On Pause

22 September 2020

Gaffer hoping potential second wave won't effect football.

David Artell has expressed his disappointment to the news that it is unlikely that supporters will be allowed back into stadiums any time soon. The Government have said that any plans to allow a small selection of fans back into pubic arenas ‘have been put on pause’ due to the prospect of a second wave of Covid-19 hitting the country.

Crewe were planning to do their first pilot test game against the MK Dons this weekend.

The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official website: “The news is obviously disappointing for everyone. I don’t think it matters if you are a manager, chairman, a fan, player or even a politician you want supporters inside the stadiums.

“We all know it is not the same and very different but we have to crack on and get on with it.

He added: “It looks as though there is a second wave on its way. We have to suck it and I am just happy that the football has continued. We want to keep on playing and hopefully we are not told to go home and be locked down for a month or two without it.”
