Boss: "Club Will Be Doing All It Can To Allow A Number Of Fans Back Into The Stadium"

16 September 2020

David Artell remains hopeful that Alex supporters will be allowed to return to Gresty Road in October.

Clubs are still campaigning to get permission to hold pilot matches and Artell is hopeful that the country will avoid a second wave of Covid-19  and that we can return to some sort of normality sooner rather later.

Artell told the club’s official website: “It is not the same playing in front of empty stadiums, we all know that.

“Hopefully, we will have the fans back in and we have heard that there may be a smaller number allowed back in October. If that happens then it will be a step in the right direction.

“Then we have to hope that the experts and scientists have got it wrong and that we avoid a second spike.

“Hopefully we can get to some sort of normality quicker than expected because football needs crowds.

“I am sure that the club are doing everything they can to get fans in as soon as they can. I would assume that they will be the season ticket holders first, so all I would say if you can afford to get one then that is the best chance you have of seeing us this season.”
