Olly: "Result At Bolton Would Be The Perfect Way To Bounce Back"

8 September 2020

Olly Lancashire is expecting another tough cup test away at Bolton this evening. The Alex defender, who was arguably the club’s most outstanding performer against Lincoln City in the League Cup, is hoping Crewe can record that first win of the campaign against a new-look Bolton side.

Ahead of this evening’s Checkatrade Trophy tie at Bolton, Lancashire said: “Bolton’s troubles over the last few years are well known and they are now in League Two but they are a good side and have good players.

“They have bought a lot of new players in over the summer and I am sure they will be looking to bounce back as soon as they can.

“They have added some real good players, who could play higher, so we know it is going to be another tough game. They will be looking to show their new manager that they deserve to be in the team.

“It will be a good test and one we can look forward to. We played them recently and I thought the lads played well.

“Hopefully, we can play well enough to win the game and collect those first three points in the group.

“I was lucky enough to get to Wembley early on in my career with Southampton in this competition and playing there is something every player strives to do in their career.

He added: “Getting to the FA Cup Final or the final of the Carabao Cup is unrealistic really, so this is our chance to get there and win a trophy.”
